About us

Villa Giovanna began as a family project: what started as a practical need grew into a genuine passion.

Today we are Salvatore and Giovanna, son and mother, and we run the guesthouse together with care and dedication in every detail.

Our aim is simple: to give our guests a stay worth remembering, between the quiet of the Matese and the warmth of a real family home.

The area

Matese National Park

Villa Giovanna sits at the gateway to Matese National Park, among the most striking landscapes of the central-southern Apennines, on the border between Campania and Molise.

Lake Matese

The highest karst lake in Italy, at over 1,000 metres: one of the park's natural treasures.

Monte Miletto

The highest peak of the massif, over 2,000 metres: from the summit the view stretches from Molise to Campania, as far as both the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic seas.

Bosco degli Zappini

At Fontegreca, over seventy hectares of one of the Mediterranean's most important cypress woods, alongside the beech forests covering the higher slopes.

Wildlife

Wolves, roe deer, foxes, hares and wildcats live in the woods of the Matese, offering genuine contact with nature.

The Pietraroja fossil site

One of the most important fossil deposits in Europe, with finds of ancient fish, amphibians and reptiles.

Sport and the outdoors

Hiking, climbing, caving, canyoning and skiing: the Matese is a living park, for every kind of adventure.
